Terms of Use
Last updated: 15 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Gabriel Capraru, the independent developer who makes Mittens (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use Mittens
You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for your account and for keeping access to your email or Apple Account secure.
2. Using the app together
- Mittens connects two people. Whatever you share in the app is visible to the partner you paired with.
- Only share content that you have the right to share, and only share photos of other people if they agree.
- Either partner can unpair at any time. Unpairing deletes the content you shared as a couple, for both of you.
3. Your content
You own what you post: moods, notes, answers, photos and plans. You give us permission to store it and show it to you and your partner, only so we can run the app. We don’t use your content for anything else, and the permission ends when the content is deleted.
4. What you must not do
- Use the app to harass, threaten or monitor someone without their consent.
- Post anything illegal, or content that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Try to access other people’s data, disrupt the service, or reverse engineer it.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
5. Mittens Premium
- One of you pays, both of you get it. Premium unlocks extra games, quizzes, questions, unlimited memories, monthly streak repairs and all widgets for you and your partner while you are paired.
- Plans. Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
- Payment and renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trial. If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused part of a trial is lost when you buy a subscription.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone’s Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- If you unpair. Premium stays with the person who paid for it and moves with them to a new couple.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
6. Streak repairs
Streak repairs bought in the app are one-time purchases. A repair you buy stays with you and can be used on a broken streak while the repair window is open. Premium includes a number of free repairs each month, as shown in the app.
7. Changes to the app
We are always improving Mittens, so features may change. If we ever stop offering the app, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Profile › Delete account. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
9. Disclaimers and liability
Mittens is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and tell you in the app about significant changes. If you keep using Mittens after that, you accept the new terms.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protections of your local consumer law and can bring a claim where you live.
